CUSTOM TACK BOOK
As of January 2008, I am completely caught up on custom orders! However, as I look around the workroom, I see that it is cluttered with half-started projects. Thus, I've decided to spend the next few months just digging myself out from under all the clutter. As I finish tack projects, they will be posted to the Production List.

WORK LOAD & OPENINGS

IN-PROCESS TACK LOTS
- Corona Saddle Pads. This lot is closed.
- Odds & Ends. I know I have a Dragon Scale Armor set all done but the doll; some Native American Warrior's Saddles, various breast collar & string girths, etc, etc. Sign-up for the newslist (see above) if you want to know when these are done!
UPCOMING TACK LOTS, PLANS, AND EVENTS
2008
- March 2008: Lone Star Live (Fort Worth, TX). Plans are for me to judge the Unicorn Woman Fantasy Model Challenge Class. This will be the first year that NAN cards will be awarded for Fantasy Workmanship.
- I will not be attending Breyerfest this year.
- I have my own Domain now, but there is still a lot of
updating to be done. With the new hosting site, I have new
options, including a Bulletin Board System. I'm hoping to use
that for tack educational purposes, so be sure you are signed up
for my tack announcement list.
- Paypal Shopping Cart to be installed for kits, supplies,
and production items.
- Finish & Release Native American Reproduction Warrior's Saddle Kit &
the Open Front Jumping Boot Kit.
- House-cleaning: I have several projects I have started that I hope to finish. As they get done,
I'll post to them to the Production List.
- I plan to take breaks to do some custom work. If you are interested in that,
with me with your needs.
- Other great stuff will happen as I can work it in. Be sure to join our Newslist for the latest.

CONSTRUCTION TIMES
All our miniature tack is hand-crafted. Construction times vary depending on
the item ordered, new research required, development of new techniques,
sick/vacation/personal days taken, etc.
All tack is made in tack lots of more than one item. Even when making
non-identical items, this is the most
efficient means of working for The Unicorn Woman. The Construction
Times listed below are ESTIMATES and assume a full tack lot. Delivery
Time Estimates for custom orders is the Current Workload +
Construction Time + 3-4 weeks for receiving your
order/processing it/shipping it to you.
For example, assume that you placed an order for a Medieval Costume
right now. You would be looking at an ESTIMATED delivery date of
CURRENT WORKLOAD + CONSTRUCTION TIME + 3-4 WEEKS PROCESSING
July 2005 + 8-12 weeks construction + 3-4 weeks Processing =
Last Week of November 2005
When you custom order you will be notified of the ESTIMATED Delivery
Date if it will be longer than 8-10 weeks. You will also be updated if the date is changed due to
unforeseen circumstances.
CONSTRUCTION TIMES FOR SELECTED ITEMS
Below is a list of sample construction times. Each estimate assumes a FULL tack lot and normal work hours.
Currently in 2005, other obligations have cut work time in 1/2, so things take twice as long as what is quoted below.
ARABIAN COSTUMES: 4 Weeks
ENGLISH BRIDLES (Snaffle, Pelhams, Weymouths): 1 Week
MEDIEVAL COSTUMES: 4 Weeks
NATIVE AMERICAN COSTUMES: 4 Weeks
PARADE SADDLE SETS: 3 weeks
SPANISH RIDING SCHOOL OF VIENNA COSTUME: 4 Weeks
WESTERN BRIDLES & HALTERS: 2 Days-1 Week
WESTERN SADDLES: 1 1/2 Weeks
